Television, Literary and Film - Creative Idea Planner
Frequently Asked Questions

How can your referral service help me?
A writer with limited exposure within the television and film industry does not have direct contact with companies who will look at their work. It’s who you know; the industry is built on relationships. Creative Idea Planner is affiliated with executives searching for writers for projects to produce or develop.

Why do you charge a small fee?
Submissions must be acknowledged as a time consuming service. Creative Idea Planner seeks appropriate material for recommendation to industry executives, therefore, a fee must be applied to gather outstanding talent and to ensure quality submissions.

What chances does my script have for referral and the chance it will get sold?
If your story idea meets what the industry professional is looking for it will be recommended.  It is up to the industry professional to meet with you and discuss your script. However, it will most likely be sold if it follows the concept of the pitch you submitted.

How many industry professionals are you connected with?
Right now, our Rolodex consists of over 500 colleagues, producers, assistants, managers and other industry professionals -- and growing.

Why a referral service? What’s in it for your assistance?
The Creative Idea Planner’s sole purpose is to nurture creative ideas by staking a reputation on recommending scripts with original concepts and commercial potential to executives eager to discover the next hit film, television show, or undiscovered writing talent.

Do I sign your release form or the production company?
If they request it, production companies require you to sign their own release form before they will consider looking at your script. Creative Idea Planner does not handle release forms.

Can I get additional critique and feedback on my pitch submission? Can you offer feedback before I submit?

Feedback before a pitch would be a conflict of interest. Please visit our Services  page and send a request for story critique and/or feedback. Creative Idea Planner will contact you with the details for helping you.
